Question:Would this be appropriate for a 2 year old?
Answer:My little boy was 2 when we bought this. The sides are high enough to stop them falling out. My son is 6 now and still in it, he loves it!
Question:What size should the mattress be? Is it normal single bed?
Answer:A regular UK sized single mattress should fit :-) it is an excellent bed! Still using it well over a year later, very sturdy and fun!!

Answer:Heaviest one was marked as 27kg. Well strapped for carrying.

Answer:Hi it mentioned in the description the mattress should be 200x90 cms. I have to say the slatter base is very week. If you put your kid to bed and lie down as well it might fall down. Apart from that my boy loves it still now after having it for almost two years.
